Insider by Owen Mullen

Someone’s playing both sides and now they have a score to settle…

When the family business is crime, you can never be sure who to trust. And when three of their businesses are hit in one night, the notorious Glass family close ranks. Either someone is sending them a message or a war is coming…

With trouble coming from all sides, the heads of the Glass family have more than enough to deal with, but all bets are off when a stranger from the past enters the game, causing division and mistrust.

Crooked cops, rival gangs and old enemies are bad enough, but when the trouble comes from the inside, loyalties are tested, with deadly consequences.

Page-turning, gripping, gritty, Insider is perfect for fans of Martina Cole, Kimberley Chambers and Mandasue Heller.

My Thoughts

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am always excited to start a new book by Owen Mullen, and after reading the first book within this series, I certainly couldn’t wait to dive back into the dangerous world of the Glass family once again.

Danny Glass is gone, leaving Luke Glass to run the family business whilst Nina Glass continues running her real estate business. Everything seems to be running smoothly, until two robberies take place in quick concession of one another, followed by the LBC Club being targeted too. Luke doesn’t take this lightly, after all – the business is his life, and he see’s the attempted robbery as being a personal attack against his family.

As the drama unfolds, Luke comes to realise that the person initiating these attacks must be gathering information from the inside, so now he is faced with the task of trying to single out the traitor in a group of people he trusts the most.

After reading the first book in the Glass Family series I knew it would be hard to top, but this book certainly went above and beyond all of my expectations. The writing is gritty and enthralling from the start, throwing you in to a world full of crime and action from the opening chapter. The characters are well fleshed out, with each of them possessing their own flaws and strengths that play a huge role within the story. As well as being reacquainted with members of the Glass family who we know from the previous novel, this book introduces us to a whole cast of intriguing characters that all have their role to play in this fast paced thriller.

Full of tension, drama and deceit, this is an absolute page turner that I read within a day as I simply couldn’t put this book down!.
