What if what you really need is right there in front of you, if you just take a moment to look up?
Milly has been waiting for this moment forever and finally it’s just an hour away – an interview with Vogue magazine and the opportunity to get her Louboutin-clad foot in the door. There’s just one problem – totally engrossed in her mobile phone, Milly doesn’t see the bus that is fast approaching – until it’s too late…
When Milly next opens her eyes, the consequences of her accident become clear. Everything she has worked for and dreamed of suddenly feels out of reach. But there is one bright spot on her horizon – the reappearance of her ex Jed, in all of his six-foot-four, broad-shouldered glory, with the most piercing ice blue eyes Milly ever saw.
Once used to working in a whirlwind, Milly now has the chance to reconsider how to live. Will she rush back to the treadmill, get her head down and back to business, or is there a whole other life waiting for her, if she’ll just look up to see it?
‘Read yourself happy’ with Maxine Morrey’s latest uplifting, page-turning, heart-warming romance, guaranteed to brighten up your day.
My Thoughts
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Milly has worked hard to achieve her career dreams, and it certainly hasn’t come without sacrifices. She has given up spending time with her family, and even ended up losing the love of a man who was perfect for her. When Milly is on the way to an interview to finally attain the job she has been longing for, she is more than confused when she wakes up one week later in a hospital bed.
It turns out that Milly was hit by a bus on her way to the interview, something she has very little knowledge or memory of. Whilst laying in the hospital bed, Milly begins to revaluate her life, and the lack of things she has to show for the endless sacrifices she made in order to achieve what she believed to be her dream.
When she is finally discharged, Milly makes the decision to take a good look around her, and promises herself that she will not miss out on any more happiness chasing a career. Now is her time to truly find herself, and discover what it is she really wants from life.
I have been quite a fan of Maxine Morrey’s for some time, and I always know that when I pick up one of her books I am in for a treat. Things are looking up is a story that really takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, and you find yourself taking a long look at what is important in life alongside Milly. I thought the storyline itself was so wonderfully written, I found myself lost in Milly’s life and totally swept up in her search for happiness.
With a cast of delightful characters and a storyline that has you immersed to the very end, this is an absolute page turner of a book.
