Eva Mathers is a successful woman, except for when it comes to matters of the heart. When she returns home to Yorkshire as a pending divorcee, she realises her childhood friend and first love Damon Evans is also newly single. Second Chance at First Love is such a thought evoking, heart warming story that had me hooked from the start.
Eva is a successful woman, who has a good job which she works hard at every day. When her marriage comes to an end, she finds herself moving back Yorkshire, the place where she grew up and spent many happy years. When Eva arrives she comes face to face with Damon, her childhood friend and also the first man to capture her heart. However this love she had for him was not reciprocated, as Damon has never looked at Eva romantically.
Damon is also newly single, and is trying to adjust to life co-parenting with his ex. When he comes face to face with Eva again, their connection is as strong as it was all those years ago. Damon always thought that Eva was far too good for him, and she never really showed any signs of seeing him as anything more than a friend throughout their younger years.
Damon really wants to be there for Eva, but she is really struggling to let people in, and as she hides the secrets of her past, we have to wait and see whether their strong connection is enough to give them both another chance at happiness.
I devoured this story in one sitting. I adored Eva from the moment we first met her. Despite everything she has had to overcome, she is still an incredibly strong, caring person. Damon is equally loveable and has such a big heart. The love and devotion he has for his children makes him all the more swoon worthy!.
The storyline flowed beautifully, with plenty of drama and heart warming moments thrown in, it is hard not to lose yourself within the pages of this delightful story.
