My Thoughts
Whenever I find myself in need of a heartwarming, light hearted read, I know I can certainly rely on Christie Barlow to provide me with such a book.
Molly is a hardworking Vet, but despite her having a successful business and a home of her own, she still feels as though her life is really missing something. When she attends a work conference, she meets a handsome man at the hotel, and as they hit it off immediately, one thing leads to another and Molly finds herself embarking on a one night stand.
When she wakes up the next morning alone, with no sign of the man she connected so well with, and not even a note, Molly understandably feels rather downtrodden and angered by it all. Molly knows little of this man, only part of his name, so she writes it off as a lost cause and assumes she will never see him again. Several months later, as Molly takes a stroll through Primrose park, the last thing she expects is to come face to face with her handsome stranger again, but it seems as though the time they spent together meant nothing to him.
Feeling heartbroken and deflated by it all, Molly turns to her friends for support, but as they rally around and try to cheer her up it seems there is a surprise in store for Molly..
This is such a beautiful story emphasising the importance of friendship, family and hope. The leading characters were wonderfully developed and you really feel as though you connect with them as you learn more about their lives as the story progresses. The storyline itself flows beautifully from beginning to end, so much so I found myself reading long in to the night as I simply could not part with the world which was brought to life before me.
Heartwarming and overflowing with love, this story is a breath of fresh air and the escapism I so desperately needed.
