You know how to be a human thinking, and a human doing, but do you know how to be a human BEING?
BEING isn’t just the absence of doing. It’s a dynamic place within you. Transform your experience of life by developing the ability to inhabit it. Discover how to cultivate the five
states of BEING, and create all that your life can be – from your true self.
BEING is a practical roadmap, and offers the antidote to the chaos that living in our head creates for us: psychologically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
In learning to inhabit Being, you will find:
• True rest and relaxation
• Mental peace and emotional equilibrium
• The true voice of your authentic self
• A sense of empowerment
• Your own vision and a framework for how to create it.
• How to fulfil the promise of your unique potential as a human being.
In a society obsessed with switching-off, and chilling-out, few have any consistent experience of true rest and relaxation. The kind that restores and re-aligns us, that deepens our experience of life. Especially the kind that brings us back to ourselves – fully experiencing life, instead of merely thinking and doing. Coming to live in Being is also an alternative to the escape routes of excess food, sugar, alcohol, drugs, shopping etc. You create a life you don’t need to escape from.
BEING is the 101 on Being: understanding it, recognizing it, and cultivating experiences of it. Firstly, it leads you along the path towards peace, equilibrium and happiness by learning to live in Being. Then it expands into how you create all that you want in yourself and your life, by also learning to live from Being.
With a clearly set out structure, BEING leads readers through an exploration of all that Being is. You come out of your head and into your heart, become awake and aware, and create a vision for yourself and your life. In Head Stuff we see what we experience by living in our heads, in a mostly head world. In Heart Stuff we learn to live more from our hearts. Then we journey through the five fundamental states of BEING, with chapters on each: Love, Awareness, Acceptance, Gratitude, and Creativity. These concepts are illustrated, and brought to life, through extracts from the author’s own journals, detailing the A-Z of her transformative journey to living in and from BEING, making them more relatable for readers.
For each state of Being there is a Key Points summary, and a Putting it into Practise section – with tips and ideas to start cultivating each state. The last section of the book, Transformation, has a detailed framework, taking you through all the practical steps to integrating all of the concepts into your life. Finally, the reader is taken through the process of creating their own vision for their life, and building the framework to achieve it.
Counsellor/therapist Lynn Mann guides you clearly, and systematically, along the route she took, towards fulfilling the promise of your unique human potential. The destination is a better experience of life, with less mental and emotional turmoil.
Written in a friendly, engaging, and collaborative style, BEING draws readers into seeing and believing that transformation in themselves and their life is not only possible but inevitable, by following the process that the author has experienced and sets out here.
BEING is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle meets Untamed by Glennon Doyle.
Whatever you want to achieve in life, you’ll do it by first coming to live in and from BEING.
I have always been fascinated by mindfulness and spirituality – so when I read the description for this book I knew instantly that it was a book I just had to read.
Lynn B Mann guides us through the many ways in which we can gain a true sense of Being. As someone who is so often criticising myself as well as overthinking absolutely everything I do, this book certainly had a lot to offer me.
Providing you with various ways to become a human being, rather than a human thinking, this book has certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities of making positive changes to my life. It is one of those books that will I will be revisiting as I continue to embrace all it offers.
Well written and full of purpose, this book has so much to offer all of us. It is without a doubt a book I will be revisiting time and time again.
