My Thoughts
The moment I read the description for this book I just knew it would be one of those stories you find impossible to put down. The Lies She Told is a story that is told from various perspectives, all of which allow you to connect with the characters on a much deeper level as the story progresses. This style of storytelling also allows us an insight as to the characters motives, and their emotions, as they navigate their way through these troubling events.
The characters are all wonderfully developed and realistic, each of them having their own individual personalities and difficulties that you learn of as you delve in to their lives. Paula Johnston has such a remarkable writing style that really makes you feel as though you are experiencing the situations the characters face alongside them, something that I absolutely adored about this book!.
The storyline itself was perfectly paced from the start, with the suspense levels increasing as the story nears its climax, leaving the reader full of tension as they await to see how this addictive novel will end. If you are looking for a captivating, thrilling read that will keep your attention piqued until the very end, then this is undoubtedly the book for you.

About the Author
Paula Johnston is a writer from Scotland in her late twenties, who put her principles above her chosen career path and opted to walk away from her course in journalism to protect them. She went on to have a successful career in retail management, but after being diagnosed with a chronic illness in her late twenties, Paula now focuses her time on helping other writers with editing, branding, cover designs and logos.
Having always worked around people, Paula Johnston has a fierce and keen ability to not only read those who stand before her, but cut to the core of their true intentions. Spoiler alert – they are not always as they appear.
This fascination with the human psyche now crosses over into her debut novel, ‘The Lies She Told’, a totally immersive psychological thriller that proves every prize has a price – especially desire.
