Mia Abbott’s move to Manchester was supposed to give her time and space from all the disastrous romantic choices she’s made in her past. But then the hot guy who lives opposite – the one who works out every day at exactly 10 a.m., not that Mia has noticed thank-you-very-much – starts leaving notes in his window…for her.
Bar owner Luke Doyle has his own issues to deal with but as he shows Mia the sites of her new city he also shows her what real romance looks like for the first time. And when he cooks up a signature cocktail in her honour, she realises that the man behind the bar is even more enticing than any of his creations. And once she’s had a taste she knows it will never be enough!
My Thoughts
I read this book a little while ago now and truly fell in love with this story. I had the pleasure of talking to the lovely Kathryn Freeman about this book on Instagram, but I was certainly more than happy to dive back in to this fantastic book to refresh my memory for the purpose of this tour too!.
Mia Abbott moves to Manchester needing a fresh start following the breakdown of her far from perfect relationship. Mia is working from home as a website designer, and having her work desk set up at the window of her apartment, it gives Mia the perfect view of her neighbour who lives in the apartment opposite her as he does his morning workout.
Luke has finally become the owner of the bar he has worked at for years, and when a stranger walks through the door, her relaxed sense of style and her green streaked hair instantly grasps his attention. Luke knows instantly that he wants to get to know Mia better, however she certainly needs a little more persuasion, so when Luke spots her green hair in the window opposite hers during his morning workout, he decides to take a chance and leave a note in the window for her, and soon enough, they are exploring Manchester together, and learning more about one another with every passing day.
This book was such a fun, heart warming read right from the start!. I loved Mia immediately, and the ways in which she was happy to be her own person, despite what anyone else may think of her. She has clearly been knocked down by her previous relationship, and this of course makes her more hesitant, but I loved watching her confidence grow as this story progressed. And then there is Luke who is well and truly swoon-worthy!. He has the most loving personality, and cares so deeply for all of those around him. The relationship he shares with his daughter is beautiful and heart warming, and makes you love him all the more.
The storyline is so wonderfully structured, with so much attention added to detail it really makes the reader feel immersed in the world the author so perfectly creates. The plot kept me engrossed throughout, and with each passing chapter I found myself becoming more invested with the characters and their happiness.
Full of humour, self discovery, and a whole lot of love along the way, this is a story I will certainly be recommending to everyone!.

About The Author

A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a sexy hero.
With a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn’t always about hearts and flowers – and heroes come in many disguises.
