Blurb:
A life-affirming story about a man who is given a second chance, perfect for fans of Mike Gayle and Imogen Clark.
You can’t have a rainbow, without a little rain…
The world has thrown its very worst at Luke recently. So when a stranger narrowly saves him from a fatal accident, it feels like the final straw.
But instead, Luke makes up his mind to live his life to the fullest. He’s been given a second chance, and he’s going to make it count– and so he starts by saying yes to everything life has to offer.
But when Luke’s new resolve is tested, will he return to his old ways? Or can one fateful moment truly save a life?
My Thoughts:
Luke is a pessimistic, glass half empty kind of guy with very little regards for others feelings….but that all quickly changes when Luke is nearly killed following a freak accident. Following the tragic death of the stranger that saved his life, he decides its time to make a change and live life with a more positive outlook, as a way of honouring the life of the woman who saved him.
Luke has certainly been dealt his fair share of heartbreak throughout his life, so it is understandable he has become this negative person. But what is truly beautiful is the way in which as his behavious changes throughout the story, his relationships with those whom he has often dismissed blossoms.
When he once again finds himself in a near death experience, he had to fight harder than ever to keep his new found resolve, but can he really stop himself from reverting back to his old ways when everything he has built up around him is put in to jeprody?.
This book is truly something beautiful to read. It is filled with optimism, love, and learning to embrace strengths people often don’t know they have within themselves. It is definitely a story that will stay with me or a long time.
I would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you Netgalley and Avon Books for giving me the opportunity to read this wonderful story in return for my honest review.
